2022 is a special year for Vincent Flooring as we celebrate 60 years since we first opened the doors of our Walton-on-Thames showroom. When we opened back in 1962 we were leading the way in retail, offering one of the first ever warehouse style retail showrooms in the UK, and since then we have remained Surrey’s leading independent specialists for all your flooring and bed needs.
Vincent Flooring was founded by Ray Vincent back in 1962. Ray had naturally carved a career in flooring following in his father’s footsteps who had been producing and selling wood floors and parquet blocks since the 1930’s. Having grown up around the flooring industry, at 16 Ray joined the family business. Initially a fitter he blossomed as he picked up knowledge and market expertise direct from his father.
By 1961 he had established his own business with a waiting list of local builders wanting to be supplied flooring from a trusted and expert source. Seeing the demand for a larger retail outlet to supply this demand and also service consumers direct, Ray opened Vincent Flooring in 1962 in the same showroom and warehouse that we operate from today, which was also the very first to showcase floor products in a warehouse style retail unit.
Fast forward 60 years to 2022, and when you step inside our huge showroom and you will be amazed at the incredible range of carpet, flooring and bed products on offer. Operating from our unique warehouse facilities our expertise, combined with only the best brands, has made us the first choice for thousands of customers across the Surrey area and beyond.
